BLACKLIGHT were asked to create a brand to help tell the story about a choir that is anything but traditional. With songs ranging from rock, pop and soul the brand needed to reflect the eclectic nature.
As a community choir, we wanted to put some fun into the brand and the hand-made, vibrant look was chosen to reflect how the choir sounds in full voice.
With over 300 members accessibility is key to the success for a community choir. The website is fully responsive working on all devices so that no member feels left out.
The choir are regular performers around Brighton with a growing back catalogue of videos, songs and photos. The website is fully media-ready for all the choirs’ great content.
A custom Content Management System means that Soul of the city are in full control of their content – from news, upcoming events, regular blogs to videos and songs.
BLACKLIGHT also took the Soul of the City brand over to print by designing regular flyers and posters for term courses, charity events and promo vouchers.
We’ve ensured that the Soul of the City brand works just as well in print. The posters are eye-catching and distinctive throughout Brighton and Hassocks, catching the attention of new members and ensuring everybody knows when the choir is next in town.

Redesigning a brand for a successful community choir based in Brighton. The brief was to create a new identity which reflected the choir’s diverse repertoire, fun spirit and community focus. The website is responsive working on all devices from desktop to mobile. Fully media ready, members and public can access all the content where ever they are. The CMS means that Soul of the City are in control of their content and more connected with their community.
